    I don't think I would call that a dam. More like a small pond embankment, but as awful as that terrain is it is most likely quite large for that area.

    Gotta host a talent competition within the organization. I need someone to be a narrator and tell me all the things I don't know about this. When it was established, how it got damaged, how quickly it was fixed or whatever sounds interesting without opening up for scrutiny. It's such a beautiful landscape and I'm sire you've seen the other parks pages on fb doing the social media thing. Let people see & enjoy like you guys do, please🌻

      Well did some digging not much there but interesting stuff the US Forest Service webpage detials it Project 62001. The gist is that this project will help repair a large wetland area, which is also a critical habitat for some endangered wetland species. This was originally proposed in 2022. If you are interested, you can read the PDF files.

    Glad i found your channel. Made it all the way through your video. I watched to see what part I can have as a citizen to help in the fight against invasive waterborne species. Its my intentions to attempt various methods of harvest FOR FOOD of invasive species in South Dakota. It looks as though, unfortunately, there is no shortage. If what I find actually works, ill pass my knowledge on to everyday folk. Thanks for this informative video. Reminded me of my days in CE classes. God bless you all for your hard work.

      If it's a nuisance animal, your trapping it to stop damage to your property. Relocating tapped animals is not recommended due to the risk of spreading diseases; and the majority of relocated wildlife end up dying from starvation or injuries from territory flights. If your trapping fur barers to harvest the fur I'm going to assume it's much more humane to dispatch them before you skin then.

      I’ve been a layperson fox conservationist for eight years, and I need to clarify that foxes are actually vital to a healthy ecosystem, in both urban and rural environments. In America in particular, foxes are vital in keeping harmful diseases from spreading to humans, pets, livestock, and other wildlife. This is why I never recommend killing a fox, and I try to propose solutions to keep the fox in the area while keeping livestock safe. In addition to this, the fox population in America has been steadily declining, which is why a few states have already put a hold on their fox seasons and instead turned their attention to the growing coyote population. Foxes are anything but a nuisance. Coyotes on the other hand? We could do without many of them.

    In Lake Superior (Duluth) you could catch Atlantics in shallow/sand bottom areas (6-10 feet) with water temps in the 50's. They hit spoons (flutter) trolling. Jump REALLY high on the fight. Beautiful fish and good eating. They will break a few walleye set-ups for surprised anglers.

    Great video guys. Thank you. Both me Setters got snared at the same time just yesterday only10 yards apart (New Jersey). It was a nightmare. I had no knowledge of how these devises worked. Luckily one of my dogs remained calm so I could work on the other. Trying to do that with one hand holding the dog added to the stress. I got lucky and was able to get the cable to release after about 5 minutes. In the end I was more stressed than the dogs. There is comment below about how easy these things are to remove if you just look at the lock. Nonsense. The lock and cable are buried in the skin and fur and dog is going nuts. If you are alone as I was you only have a single hand to work with.

    Beavers are an important part of a healthy ecosystem. Their dams create ponds that support many species of plants, animals and insects. These ponds act as natural filters for water and sequester carbon to a large degree with rotted organic matter accumulating within anaerobic water conditions. I could go on to explain the benefits beavers bring to our landscapes, but suffice it to say I support the decrease and even banning of beaver trapping and hunting. There is real shame in killing these important key animals in our wetland areas.

    Need to put some kind of slot limit on Lake Sharpe! Don't have the size and numbers of quality of fish like we used to have year round like we used to!!!! When you can take 15''s and overs year round. Your not going to the quantity and size to handle the pressure that goes on in this lake.

    • @jayfogarty7544
      @jayfogarty7544 Рік тому

      From what I've heard since our flood back in 2011. There have been three stockings that have been a bust for the salmon! I know of only 3 restocking's that have been a bust. One up at Whitlocks and the other two down at the lower end of Oahe. From what I understand is that the salmon that were restocked weren't acclimated to the temp of the lake when they were put in. Needless to say they pretty much all died within an hour or so after that!
